Our Mission & Global Engagement
The mission of the Center for the Study of Olympic Sport & Culture (CSOSC) is to generate and disseminate knowledge related to international sport and the Olympic Movement through:
- scholarly research
- innovative teaching
- community and global outreach
The Center emphasizes the business of sport, sport science, and the social and cultural aspects of Olympism, preparing students and scholars to engage with the Olympic Movement at local, national, and international levels.
As a recognized member of the International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Studies and Research Centre (OSRC) Network, CSOSC actively promotes:
- international collaboration and academic exchange
- contributes to global Olympic scholarship
- expands research and publication opportunities.
This membership enhances the University’s global visibility and connects faculty, staff, students, and alumni with Olympic institutions, scholars, and initiatives worldwide.
Why USSU?
The United States Sports University is the only fully accredited, standalone, degree-granting university for sport in America with a direct historical connection to Olympic leadership through its founder, Dr. Thomas P. Rosandich. USSU’s founder and his son TJ Rosandich, dedicated more than 50 years to building a global network of relationships, academic degree programs, and sport training certifications. The creation of CSOSC honors Dr. Rosandich’s legacy while positioning USSU as a global leader in Olympic scholarship, research, and education for the next generation of sport professionals.
