Dr. Steve Condon Announces Bold New Initiatives to Advance Global Impact

August 15, 2025

The United States Sports University (USSU) President, Dr. Steve Condon, today announced a series of groundbreaking initiatives designed to expand the institution’s impact, elevate its academic standing, and further its mission of delivering world-class sport education.

The announcement comes on the heels of USSU’s recent rebrand, which unveiled a refreshed visual identity and renewed institutional vision centered on the philosophy that “We’re All Athletes Here.” The rebrand underscores the University’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and preparing graduates to lead in every corner of the sports world.

“In the coming year, USSU is taking significant steps to prepare the next generation of leaders in sports,” said Dr. Steve Condon, President of USSU. “These plans reflect not just growth, but a strategic commitment to advancing sport education on a truly global scale.”

Expanding Academic Programs
USSU will launch new academic programs in Sports Psychology and Communications, designed to meet the growing demand for professionals equipped to address the mental, emotional, and media-driven aspects of the athletic experience. These programs will blend theoretical knowledge with real-world application, ensuring graduates are prepared for leadership in evolving sports industries.

Enhancing Research & Athlete Development
The University’s Human Performance Lab will undergo a significant expansion, adding state-of-the-art testing and training equipment, as well as advanced technologies to support research, athlete performance, and community partnerships.

Pioneering an Olympic Center
In a major development, planning is underway for a new Olympic Center, recently approved by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and recommended to the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The center will serve as a hub for Olympic-level research, athlete training, and outreach. If designated, USSU would join an elite group, as there is currently only one other university with such status in the United States.

“This designation would elevate our academic recognition to a world-class level,” said Dr. Condon. “Our founder, Thomas P. Rosandich, dreamed of the day we could serve as an official site for Olympic research, study, training, and performance improvement. That day is near.”

A Commitment to Excellence
Dr. Condon emphasized that these developments reflect USSU’s dedication to innovation and service.

“We are building programs and facilities that will not only serve our students but strengthen the broader global sports community,” he added. “This is what the new USSU brand stands for—excellence, leadership, and the pursuit of greatness on and off the field.”

With it rebrand setting the tone for a transformative year ahead, USSU is poised to solidify its position as a global leader in sports education, research, and professional preparation.
