We are excited that you are considering furthering your education with the United States Sports University. Please take a moment to review the information below, which outlines what to expect when you submit an application to USSU.
First Step: Apply
When you begin your application, you will receive an email with a temporary PIN, which you can use with your email address to access or update your application prior to submitting it. Once you have submitted your online application and have paid the application fee, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions for your next steps.
Apply for Financial Aid
If you plan to use financial aid, it is best to begin this process as soon as possible. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can be accessed at studentaid.gov. USSA’s school code is 021706. If you have questions about financial aid, please call 251-626-3303 or email our financial aid department at [email protected].
Track your Admissions Documents
Soon after your application has been received by the University, you will receive an email with your applicant portal login information. You can access the portal to check which documents have been received by USSU. You can also upload your documents into the portal, or you may email them instead to [email protected]. Transcripts must be official and sent from the issuing institution.
Your Admissions Counselor
Once your application is received by the admissions department, an admissions counselor will be assigned specifically to you and will assist you throughout the admission process. Your admissions counselor will contact you via phone and email to answer any questions you may have and to inform you of any remaining documents needed. They will keep you updated and update your portal as your documents are received. You can find your admissions counselor’s name and contact information in the portal.
Know Which Documents Are Required

All transcripts must be official copies, either submitted in the original sealed envelope provided by the issuing institution or sent electronically directly by the institution to [email protected].
**MSS and EdD applicants: Once your admissions documents are received, your essay will be reviewed. This may take a few days.
Getting Started: Acceptance and Registration
When you have been accepted into the program, your admissions counselor will send you an acceptance package via email and the postal service. This package includes important registration information as well as login credentials and instructions for accessing your new student accounts.

Contact Your Academic Advisor
Your acceptance package will include your academic advisor’s name and contact information. Please contact your advisor at your earliest convenience for your initial advising session. Your academic advisor will be your main point of contact to assist you with all academic concerns or questions throughout your program.
