United States Sports University Launches Executive MBA

A 12-month, $12,000 Pathway Built Exclusively for the Business of Sport.
One Cohort. One Year. One Credential built for those who already work in the game.
DAPHNE, Ala. – The United States Sports University (USSU) announced the launch of its
Executive MBA in Sports Management, a 30-credit-hour graduate program designed for
coaches, athletic administrators and career changers who want a sport-specific MBA without
putting their career on hold.
Where most MBA programs ask working professionals to choose between their job and their
education, USSU built the Executive MBA around a different idea: give serious sport-industry
professionals a fast, focused and fully financeable path to the credential that moves their career
forward, and do it in a single year.

A Curriculum Built for the Business of Sport

The Executive MBA in Sports Management pairs a rigorous business core with coursework
found nowhere outside a dedicated sports university. Students complete:
Core Business Foundation (12 credit hours): Leadership and Strategic Planning, Finance &
Accounting for Decision Making, Managerial Economics, and Business Analytics for
Decision Making

Sports Management Specialization (15 credit hours): Managing People and Performance in
Sports Business, Sports Marketing and Sponsorship, International Sports Management,
Revenue Generation and Fundraising in Sports Business, and Sports Facility and Event
Management

Capstone Project (3 credit hours): A culminating MBA Capstone that puts the full
curriculum to work on a real business challenge
Students move through the program as a single cohort of 15 to 20, starting together, taking
every course together and finishing together. Fall and spring terms run in focused 8-week
sessions; the program closes with a 12-week capstone in the summer, preserving the academic
rigor USSU’s accreditation standards require even at an accelerated pace.

The Only Sports MBA That Fits Inside a Single Year of Federal Aid

With changes to federal graduate borrowing taking effect this year, a growing number of
MBA programs now leave students with a financing gap that must be filled with private loans.
The Executive MBA in Sports Management was priced and structured to close that gap
before it opens.
At a total program cost of $12,000, the Executive MBA fits inside a single year’s federal
unsubsidized loan eligibility for graduate students, with room to spare. Students pursuing a
typical $70,000 MBA elsewhere are increasingly turning to private credit to cover the
difference. Executive MBA students at USSU don’t have to.
Employees whose companies offer tuition assistance have an additional advantage: up to
$5,250 a year in employer-provided education benefits is tax-free, meaning many working
professionals can cover nearly half the program without touching personal savings.
Prospective students should confirm current federal financial aid eligibility and programspecific
details directly with USSU’s financial aid office.

Built for People Already Working in the Game
The Executive MBA in Sports Management is designed for three groups of professionals who
are ready to move now:

Coaches and athletic administrators looking to convert years of field and front-office
experience into the credential that opens director-level and executive roles
Career changers from business, marketing, and education who want to bring their skill
set into the sports industry through a curriculum built specifically for it
Military service members and veterans whose discipline and leadership experience
translate directly into an accelerated, cohort-based program
Early-career sports professionals who want to build the business knowledge, leadership
skills, and professional network needed to advance into higher-level positions.

Learn From the Leaders
As part of the Executive MBA experience, students will participate in a series of exclusive 60-
minute leadership sessions with experienced sport professionals. Each session will create a
learning environment where students can engage in meaningful conversation, ask questions,
and gain practical insight into current trends, leadership challenges, career pathways,
decision-making and the evolving business of sports.
The series will feature sport industry leaders throughout the academic year. Each session will
provide access to real-world leadership perspectives, professional experiences and practical
insight into the business and management of sport.

How to Apply
United States Sports University is now accepting applications for the inaugural Executive
MBA cohort. Seats are limited to 20 students to preserve the close-knit, accelerated cohort
model the program is built around, and admission decisions are made on a rolling basis.
Interested applicants are encouraged to apply early, as the first cohort is expected to fill
quickly. Students may transfer up to six credit hours into the program, subject to review and
approval by the Program Director.
